Escape Engine is the raw expression of fury, truth - a kind of release of darkness that clears the way for light.
If Cloud Mountain was ascent, Escape Engine is its aftermath. The weight of virtuous solitude, a howling or echo of what had to be disintegrated through the peaks and crests of soaring altitudes. Composer Reymundo Guerrero's fourth entry: "It's meant to be endured as much as it is to be heard. Entertainment was not a primary objective here. The only thing that needed to happen was for my soul to find a voice."
Though interpretations from the public are inevitable, the roots of Escape Engine remain with its composer. Gossip is outward; art is inward. This is a musical landscape, not a confession of any acts. For any audience to reframe the narration of the album would be for them to reveal their own distortion. To misunderstand the aforementioned would be to miss the purpose of the listening experience entirely.
The Depths of Your Ambitions was an initiation. Progress Movement's debut entry was to hold the raw drive of building something larger than life. It was both aspiration and exposure. Dreams. The Extopianist was a confrontation with technology, augmentation, and self-creation. It was an experimental concept of grafting machinery into the soul. The belief that man is the designer of himself and the tragedy of what can be lost when the spirit and the body are disfigured in the chase of transcendence. When ambition steps into the storm of extinction. Cloud Mountain is the monument. The peak built from exile. Its revelation. Its personal sacrifice. The world dome of visions. Its as much of a cathedral of haunted memory as it's complete sublimity.
Escape Engine is the emergent chain breaking machine that ruptures out of entrapment. Sonic Retribution: purging, shielding, the great expulsion of deceivers, and harmful woes. Where Cloud Mountain was monumentally standing still. Escape Engine moves, tearing through illusions and walls, repelling curses, and clearing the way for what will arguably be composer Reymundo Guerrero's finest ending moments of Escape Engine.
Ambitions can drown you. Technology runs the risks of fracturing you, but the Mountain will most certainly exalt and betray you.
Only the Engine will free you.
